The latest video from Richard Ashcroft‘s These People is now on Live4ever.
It might have taken ten years for another straight up solo record to emerge from the former Verve frontman, but when speaking to Steve Lamacq on BBC 6Music around release time, he already had clear plans for the near future.
“The outro has just got a great atmosphere for the end of the record, bookends it with Out Of My Body, almost like a deconstruction of the psyche through the album,” he said. “Also leaves it open for the next record because it’s been a few years now so I’ve got a number of tunes ready to roll for the next one.”
“So I wanted to give that sense of, ‘it’s not the absolute full stop here, part one’s coming to an end, get ready for the next wave’.”
Ashcroft plays arenas in Liverpool and London next month.
