The Kinks to release ‘Mono Collection’ vinyl boxset

kinks

A box of ten 180g vinyls entitled ‘The Mono Collection‘ will offer up The Kinks‘ first eight albums and more later this year.

The set takes us from the band’s trailblazing early rock and roll, epitomised by the ‘You Really Got Me‘ single, through to the start of Ray Davies‘ for-better-or-worse conceptual, flamboyant songwriting progression, which was such a feature of the seventies, on ‘The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society’ and ‘Arthur or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire’, and the 1970 self-titled compilation, also known as The Black Album.
