Oasis finally confirm ‘Be Here Now’ reissue with Mustique Demos

Oasis have finally confirmed the third part of their ‘Chasing The Sun’ trilogy of re-releases.

Revisiting the band’s first three studio albums – a triumvirate which briefly made them the biggest in the world – the reissues began back in 2014 with ‘Definitely Maybe‘ and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?‘ but, unlike the hectic, 100mph nature of the original period, it’s taken until now for the 1997 album to be confirmed.

‘Be Here Now‘ will be out on October 7th with b-sides, rarities and unreleased tracks, currently led by a Noel Gallagher-restored version of the lead single ‘D’You Know What I Mean?‘, though that’s where the remastering process starts and ends.

“As the years went by I’d started to accept that the songs on ‘Be Here Now’ were in fact insanely long…too long,” Gallagher says.

“Someone (I can’t remember who) had the idea that we re-visit, re-edit the entire album for posterity’s sake. We got as far as the first track before we couldn’t be arsed any more and gave up.”

Of most interest no doubt to fans will be the third disc comprising the so-called ‘Mustique Demos’ – long sought after tracks amongst a fanbase particularly keen on its bootlegs recorded by Gallagher and producer Owen Morris on the Caribbean island in 1996.
