The promo follows Ashcroft’s official return last week with news of ‘These People‘, his first album since 2010’s ‘United Nations Of Sound‘ and his first solo album proper since ‘Keys To The World‘ of 2006. It’s due on May 20th through the former Verve frontman’s own Righteous Phonographic Association label via Cooking Vinyl.
It was recorded in London along side co-producer Chris Potter, while Wil Malone – who worked on the string arrangements for The Verve’s ‘A Northern Soul‘ and ‘Urban Hymns‘ albums as well as Ashcroft’s 2000 debut solo LP ‘Alone With Everybody‘ – also played his part.
Gigs have been announced too, on May 14th at the Albert Hall in Manchester and on the 16th at the Roundhouse in London. Needless to say both dates are already very much sold out.
