Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller are rumoured to have joined forces and contributed a song to a new album being released to mark the 50th anniversary of The Monkees.

It’s Music-News who’s reporting the Gallagher/Weller collaboration, though it is officially confirmed that other songwriters including Harry Nilsson, Rivers Cuomo and Neil Diamond have songs ready for inclusion on the ‘Good Times!‘ album.

“This is one of the most exciting Monkees projects I’ve been involved in for decades,” Micky Dolenz has said. “Working with Adam Schlesinger has been a pure delight and the opportunity to sing a duet with my old buddy, Harry Nilsson, is just beyond cool!”

Gallagher and Weller have been firm friends ever since Oasis first broke on to the UK music scene in the mid-nineties, and have subsequently shared the stage together on countless occasions. However, this would represent a far rarer in-studio hook-up by the pair.

‘Good Times!’ confirmed tracks:

‘Good Times!’ (Harry Nilsson)
‘You Bring The Summer’ (Andy Partridge)
‘Terrifying’ (Zach Rogue)
‘Me & Magdalena’ (Ben Gibbard)
‘She Makes Me Laugh’ (Rivers Cuomo)
‘Love To Love’ (Neil Diamond)
‘I Know What I Know’ (Michael Nesmith)
