Noel Gallagher has described performing with U2 at the O2 Arena in London earlier this week as a ‘dream come true’.

Gallagher’s performance of ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For‘ with the Irish supergroup caused something of a stir online, especially when he was photographed unassumingly taking the London Underground to the gig.

And he’s told Music News the moment was just as memorable for him, as he also covered The Beatles‘ ‘All You Need Is Love‘ during the guest appearance.

“It was a dream come true to be asked to get up with them and then it was a dream come true to be asked to sing that song,” he said.

“They’re friends of mine. I’ve been friends with Bono for about 20 years. It was a great moment. I was stood in the wings and they were introducing me and I was thinking ‘This is actually going to happen now, this is amazing’.”

“They are one of my favourite ever, ever bands and that’s one of the best songs ever written. It was a blast, a real honour.”
