The Courteeners have unveiled the details of a UK tour which will take them into the last month of 2015.

The dates begin on November 26th at Stoke’s Victoria Hall, and move on to Lincoln, Glasgow and Newcastle as the month comes to an end. December then starts at the Leicester O2 Academy, and also takes in visits to the Wulfrun Hall in Wolverhampton and London’s Shepherds Bush Empire.

Morrissey has discussed cancer diagnosis, the current music industry and his long battle with depression during a rare interview with Larry King. A few clips are below.

Morrissey was also on US TV yesterday (August 18th) performing his ‘World Peace Is None Of Your Business‘ album track ‘Kiss Me a Lot‘ for James Corden’s Late Late Show – which you can see on Live4ever here – but had a much more in-depth chat with King before airing the same song.

Brian Eno will deliver the BBC Music John Peel Lecture for 2015, following Pete Townshend, Billy Bragg, Charlotte Church and Iggy Pop who have all given speeches since the evening was initiated back in 2011.

“I’m honoured to be invited to do a talk in the name of John Peel, a man who had a profound effect on my musical life and indeed my becoming a musician at all,” Eno remarks.

The iTunes Festival has been rebranded as the Apple Music Festival for 2015 and has confirmed Pharrell Williams, One Direction, Disclosure and Florence & The Machine as its first headline acts.

The name-change comes about after the launch of Apple Music earlier this year, where live performances from the festival will be available to download for free, as well as being viewed live and on-demand. There will also be coverage on the new Beats 1 radio service.

Paul Weller has announced the new single ‘I’m Where I Should Be‘, released as a 2-track download on September 25th.It’ll be backed with a brand new song entitled ‘Open Road‘ and is to be followed by 7″ vinyl and exclusive vinyl bundle editions of the single on October 9th.

Musician, DJ and producer Skepta has been announced as the recipient of this year’s Outstanding Contribution prize at the AIM Independent Music Awards.“Since grime was born out of the ashes of UK garage, Skepta has been a pioneer of the sound, of the DIY business model and the culture,” AIM Awards judge and BBC Radio 1 / 1Xtra presenter MistaJam comments.

Foals have announced UK dates for November, when their new album ‘What Went Down‘ is to be aired in a series of intimate locations.

Having professed their desire to, ‘play a sweaty London gig around the album release, one where we finally get to play some more new songs’, last week (this being at the Village Underground on August 25th), the band will do the same in Nottingham, Liverpool, Norwich, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Newcastle, Southampton, Margate, Bristol and Cambridge for a week or so in November.

The Libertines have delayed the release of comeback album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth‘ by a week to make room for the high public demand which their Somewhere Over The Railings series of build-up events have generated.

“A pop-up shop, Bucket Shop, opens on August 24th from the ‘Rock ’N’ Roll Rescue’ charity shop situated next door to the Dublin Castle at 96 Parkway,” the band say. “The store will be selling and displaying rare memorabilia, trinkets, treasures and art and will be open until September 4th. Every purchase will include a donation to the Rock N Roll Rescue charity. Coffee will also be being served courtesy of ‘Tim Peaks’. Opening times are week one 12PM – 8:00 PM, week two 1PM – 9:00PM.”

Craig David – he of the busy weeks and the subject of career-threatening Avid Merrion impersonations – is apparently chasing a collaboration with Kasabian.

“Kasabian are wicked,” he’s told NME. “They’ve got the hit songs, but it’s the presence in the performance and the attitude with it that I love.”
