After wrapping up the first leg of his ‘Chasing Yesterday‘ cycle at Fuji Rock in Japan last week, Noel Gallagher will release a new High Flying Birds compilation EP on September 25th.

‘Where The City Meets The Sky: Chasing Yesterday: The Remixes‘ will bring together various remixes of tracks from his second solo record on double heavyweight vinyl, digital and limited edition pink/blue vinyl formats, including David Holmes‘ reworked version of ‘Girl With The X-Ray Eyes‘ and Massive Attack‘s 3D‘s take on ‘The Right Stuff‘.

The Bluetones‘ 1998 album ‘Return To The Last Chance Saloon‘ will be re-released in expanded, 2CD form in September as part of the band’s impending comeback.

Having called it a day in 2011, The Bluetones are back with plans for a UK tour in September, the details of which are below, and have now also confirmed the reissue of their follow-up to the 1996 debut ‘Expecting To Fly‘.

There’s more essential new music coming up from Gaz Coombes in September following on from his quite brilliant 2015 album ‘Matador‘.

On September 18th, one of this year’s best releases will be revisited in the form of the ‘Matador (Da Capo)‘ EP, which is lead by a strikingly reworked, extended version of ‘Matador’s title-track.

The Libertines went right back to their raucous, house party roots last week (July 28th) with a secret gig at the Blues Kitchen in Camden, north London.

Although the gig was unannounced, hundreds of fans had reportedly packed into the venue by the time the band made their way to the venue at around 10pm.

It’s taken a long time. Much longer than even The Maccabees themselves ever anticipated. But the band’s new album ‘Marks To Prove It‘ is looking increasingly likely to be worth the wait, and the unveiling of latest track ‘Spit It Out‘ has done nothing to allay those suspicions.

The album cut was premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show last week (July 27th), not long before the LP was released on Friday.

The LP is out on August 7th through Xtra Mile Recordings and Polydor Records and is to be preceded by the single ‘The Next Storm’ on August 3rd.

New Order have offered a first taste of their new album ‘Music Complete‘ just over a month after its details were confirmed.

‘Restless‘ is streaming on YouTube ahead of the band’s latest release on September 25th which will feature guests spots from Brandon Flowers, Iggy Pop and Elly Jackson (La Roux). It has been produced by the band along with Stuart Price and The Chemical Brothers‘ Tom Rowlands.

The Cribs will play two UK dates in October after a sell-out run earlier this year supporting the recent ‘For All My Sisters‘ album.

The band are due to play Glasgow Barrowlands on October 20th and London’s Roundhouse on October 28th. “It’s a huge personal thrill for the band to be playing at the Roundhouse,” Gary Jarman says.
