The Libertines have delayed the release of comeback album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth‘ by a week to make room for the high public demand which their Somewhere Over The Railings series of build-up events have generated.

“A pop-up shop, Bucket Shop, opens on August 24th from the ‘Rock ’N’ Roll Rescue’ charity shop situated next door to the Dublin Castle at 96 Parkway,” the band say. “The store will be selling and displaying rare memorabilia, trinkets, treasures and art and will be open until September 4th. Every purchase will include a donation to the Rock N Roll Rescue charity. Coffee will also be being served courtesy of ‘Tim Peaks’. Opening times are week one 12PM – 8:00 PM, week two 1PM – 9:00PM.”

“‘Somewhere Over The Railings opens the day after the band’s headlining appearance at the Reading Festival on August 31st for 5 days at The Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden Town, NW1 7AN. Tickets for all the Dublin Castle events sold out within two minutes of going on sale, all proceeds of which will be going to ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Rescue’.”

The special events arranged in anticipation of The Libertines third album were announced last week, ahead its planned release on September 4th. Their popularity means it will now be out on September 11th.

“Art directed and curated by the band, the week of events at The Dublin Castle will feature a new photo exhibition, a Libertines pub quiz, a new documentary by Roger Sargent filmed in Thailand whilst making ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth,” playbacks of the new album prior to release, exclusive prizes and plenty of surprises,” the statement continues.
