Craig David – he of the busy weeks and the subject of career-threatening Avid Merrion impersonations – is apparently chasing a collaboration with Kasabian.

“Kasabian are wicked,” he’s told NME. “They’ve got the hit songs, but it’s the presence in the performance and the attitude with it that I love.”

“They’re like, ‘I’ve got this’, which reminds of the Travises of this world, the Coldplays or even Oasis, there’s that attitude with it.”

Craig David was one of the UK’s biggest selling musicians at the turn of this century, enjoying hit albums with ‘Born To Do It‘ and ‘Slicker Than Your Average‘, but has since endured a steady commercial decline since the release of the latter in 2002.

“We played the same festival recently and I was doing an acoustic set so it was nice to break it down among Kasabian’s thing, which was full on,” he continued. “I love them, I think they’re great.”
