It’s taken a long time. Much longer than even The Maccabees themselves ever anticipated. But the band’s new album ‘Marks To Prove It‘ is looking increasingly likely to be worth the wait, and the unveiling of latest track ‘Spit It Out‘ has done nothing to allay those suspicions.
The album cut was premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show last night (July 27th), not long before the LP is released on Friday.
“It became about the night time, the inner city stripped-back and about the band dynamic again,” Felix White has said.
“One of the things we were clear about for the album, “ frontman Orlando Weeks added, “was not having too many voices, too many characteristics, so that you could get to know the sounds, the instruments. And then, at the end, that meant we could reintroduce those characters, not in a way that was aping what had gone before but as a familiar force.”
