The Libertines have moved swiftly to officially reveal the first track from their comeback, third studio album ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth‘.

Check out ‘Gunga Din‘, also played live at Glastonbury last weekend, below.

Over a decade ago now, Pete, Carl, John and Gary strolled towards the camera down a London alley, grappling, embracing and generally just larking about with each other. It’s eerily similar to what’s going on here, as the four bandmates tell the story of their time in Pete Doherty‘s adopted Thailand home, where the album was primarily written.

‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’ is out in September, and The Libertines have been on their Facebook page to promise a series of special announcements in the near future to celebrate the release.

“It would be inappropriate for us not to mark this occasion with a celebration of the highest order, so we will be indulging in a week of folly around the UK in which you will all be invited to partake,” they’ve said.
