Live4ever’s Gary Mather was down front when Johnny Marr played the Summer In The City event at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl last weekend, immediately before headliner and close friend Noel Gallagher.

After releasing and touring his second solo album ‘Playland‘, Marr has been busying himself writing his autobiography, which is scheduled for release next year.
“For the past few years as I’ve been out on tour promoting my solo work fans and journalists have been asking me when I’ll write my book,” he said. “I’m very happy to say that the time has come to tell my story.”
“It’s the book Smiths fans have been waiting their whole lives, and the early material that Johnny has written is utterly breathtaking,” Century’s publishing director Ben Dunn added. “I’m delighted that Johnny has chosen Century to be his publisher.”
