Damon Albarn‘s marathon, five-hour set at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark last weekend was only brought to an end when he was unceremoniously carried off by security.

Fan footage of the gig’s abrupt conclusion has been posted to YouTube and can be viewed below.

Albarn was performing with his Africa Express project, and had been joined by the likes of Graham Coxon, Nick Zinner and Laura Mvula during the lengthy concert. It was around four o’clock in the morning local time when organisers finally decided enough was enough and carted him away.

The always busy musician released his first album with Blur in over a decade last May. “Any way you look at it, Blur are an awkward proposition,” our ‘Magic Whip’ review reads.

“Most of the time it feels like they just have too many right angles to ever sit anywhere comfortably; in culture, entertainment, or mass consciousness – an impression compounded by ‘The Magic Whip‘s elephantine gestation process.”
