Strong debut by Slaves on UK Record Store Chart


Jamie xx’s In Colour has landed straight at Number 1 on this week’s UK Record Store Chart and the Official Vinyl Albums Chart.

The album of debut solo collections includes collaborations with xx bandmate Romy Madley Croft as well as a co-write from Alicia Keys on Sleep Sound.

Florence + The Machine’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful which tops this week’s Official Album charts, came in second.

Elsewhere on this week’s chart, Rock duo Slaves land at 3 with their debut LP Are You Satisfied?, The Darkness are new at 9 with The Last Of Our Kind, while last week’s chart toppers The Vaccines dropped 3 spots to number 4.

The UK’s biggest albums of the week sold through 100 UK independent record shops is compiled by the Official Charts Company, based on sales of CDs, vinyl and other formats – in partnership with Record Store Day.
