The identities of the 2016 Glastonbury headliners are already up for debate as Worthy Farm begins its clean-up today.

William Hill are probably not far off with their favourites Foo Fighters, who at 3/1 seem a good bet to emulate U2 in fulfilling their aborted headline booking at the earliest opportunity after cancelling late on this time.

Muse are second favourites to top the Pyramid Stage during what will be the last throngs of their live ‘Drones‘ duties, while Fleetwood Mac and Oasis are next at 12/1, with AC/DC a 16/1 shot. Former Oasis man Noel Gallagher is 20/1 to headline in solo form.

It’s probably worth noting at this juncture that the early favourites for Glastonbury just gone proved to be wide of the mark. At various points most of those included in these initial prices for next year were also mentioned twelve months ago – most prominently Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC and Oasis – while The Who especially had barely received any backing.

More interesting bets, given Glastonbury’s predilection for a surprise, could be pop acts Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift at 20/1 and 50/1 respectively, while Adele putting her dislike for the big stage to one side is worth 66/1.
