Are The Libertines set for surprise Glastonbury performance?

The Libertines are being strongly tipped as Emily Eavis’ secret special guests at Glastonbury tonight (June 26th).

A place needs to be filled after Florence & The Machine replaced the stricken Foo Fighters as headliners on the Pyramid Stage, and co-organiser Emily Eavis confirmed a new act had been secured, but would only describe the band as having ‘never done it before on the Pyramid Stage’.

She’d been hoping to keep their identities a secret right up until stage time, and still may have done, but some eagle-eyed pictures have begun circulating on Twitter during the past couple of hours which strongly suggest it will indeed be The Libertines performing soon.

One picture (above) shows a list of today’s Pyramid Stage acts, with ‘Albion’ listed in between Florence & The Machine and Motorhead – a title of course synonymous with Pete Doherty, Carl Barat and co. for various reasons.

Either way, all be revealed at around 8pm (BST) in the increasingly soggy main stage area.
