Noel Gallagher has beaten Paul Weller to number one on the UK’s new Vinyl Singles Chart with ‘Riverman‘ – the latest track taken from his second solo album ‘Chasing Yesterday‘.

Weller is one place back with the title-track of his own new solo record, while the Top 10 is also filled by new entries from Nothing But Thieves, Swans, Public Service Broadcasting, Wolf Alice and a host of releases from Marina & The Diamonds.

The Vinyl Singles Chart was launched last month in recognition of the format’s resurgence, and is compiled exclusively by sales of 7″ and 12″ records.
