Matt Bellamy has confidently labelled Muse‘s upcoming album ‘Drones‘ as the best of their career – something he says he hasn’t been able to do ‘for a while’.

“I can say this – this album is our best album,” the frontman told iHeart Radio (via Digital Spy). “I haven’t been able to say that for a while, but this album is our best album – so feel free to start on this one.”

‘Drones’ was recorded with co-producer Robert John ‘Mutt’ Lange and is due for release on June 8th. Tour dates have already begun in the UK and the States, but it’ll be supported further with a notable headline date at the Download Festival this summer.

“To me, ‘Drones’ are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse,” Bellamy has previously said of the album. “The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors.”
