Hot Chip sit on top of the UK Record Store Chart

London Indie electronic outfit Hot Chip  sees its new album ‘Why Make Sense‘ debut at the very top of this week’s Independent Record Store Chart.

Hot Chip’s new entry toppled Mumford & Sons from the top spot while other new entries by  Paul Weller and Faith No More  pushed past Blur and Django Django to take over spots #2 and #3 . Brandon Flowers’ long anticipated follow up album to ‘Flamingo‘ also showed a strong showing with ‘The Desired Effect’ charting at #7 this week.




Flowers has said about the record’s producer Ariel Rechtshaid:

“It’s nice to steer the ship and that’s what you’d think I’d do on my own album, but I’m letting Ariel take over every now and then,”“That’s led to some really exciting things and sounds I would never have used. As I’ve gotten older I’m much more open to that – I’m much more open to peoples’ strengths and really trying to utilise them – and that’s where Ariel comes into the pictur
