Drenge are a late addition to this year’s Great Escape festival, which takes place in Brighton this weekend.

The Loveless brothers have revealed they’ll play Patterns Upstairs on Friday, May 15th at midnight, and will also hold a free show the following day. Great Escape wristband holders can gain entry on a first-come, first-served basis.

Drenge are busy promoting their superb second album ‘Undertow‘, which came out last month. “What is it about Eoin Loveless’ voice that so unsettles,” Live4ever’s album review begins.

“Many might attribute it to its deep baritone, others simply due to the vocals themselves. But in reality there have been many singers with such a downtrodden tone, like Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields, who have sounded equally as fascinating, but never as menacing.”

“There have also been countless bands singing of troubling things, but they just never ring so true.”
