Black Keys guitarist Dan Auerbach has told NME the band are finally ready to return to the live scene.
The duo have been on an enforced break for just about all of 2015 after drummer Patrick Carney damaged his shoulder in a swimming accident, but Auerbach has enjoyed his unexpected downtime and is now looking ahead to what they have planned for the rest of this year.
“I wasn’t pissed off at all,” he said. “I mean, I felt bad that we had to cancel for our fans but at the same time, having a break for me personally was great. It was really nice to spend a lot of time hanging out at home. It was really good!”
The Black Keys are due to head up the Isle Of Wight festival next month – as will Blur, The Prodigy and, in their only UK festival appearance of the summer, Fleetwood Mac.
