Beginning on Bonfire Night, the Happy Mondays will head out on an anniversary tour of the UK 25 years on from ‘Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches‘.
The band’s third studio album, a crowning glory of the Madchester movement, was released in 1990 and is to be celebrated with the Mondays’ original line-up of Shaun and Paul Ryder, Gaz Whelans, Paul Davis, Mark Day and Mark ‘Bez’ Berry playing 18 live shows.
“It’s great to be doing 25 years of Pills ‘n’ Thrills,” Shaun Ryder says. “Here’s to another 25 years. I’m going to remember it this time. There’s some really great work on Pills ‘n’ Thrills. It was the album that put us on Top of the Pops.”
