The various members of Noah & The Whale are expected to begin pursuing side projects after the band confirmed its split today (April 1st).

“Noah and the Whale have decided to call it a day,” the message reads. “We have had an incredible eight years together and are immensely grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way.”

“There are too many people to mention in this short message but we would like to take this opportunity to give special thanks to all of our amazing fans, who have supported us so magnificently over the years and made everything possible.”

The group emerged from same London folk scene which also nurtured the likes of Mumford & Sons and Laura Marling in 2008 with the debut album ‘Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down‘.

They scored a genuine hit three years later with ‘L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.‘, a single which carried its parent album ‘Last Night On Earth‘ to the Top 10 of the UK charts.
