Mumford & Sons considered changing their name ahead of new album release

Mumford & Sons have undergone some changes on their third studio album ‘Wilder Mind‘ and, according to frontman Marcus Mumford, they would change their name too if he had his way.

“If I’d known it was going to go this way, I would have wanted to call it anything other than my last name,” he’s told NME. “It’s a ball-ache. We thought about changing it, but it’s a bit late now.”

There’s also been a suspiciously slick, well-timed change in their wardrobe to match the newly electric-charged sound of their new album.

“I think it would be fair to say that we’ve noticed that in some of our old photos we look like absolute idiots,” keyboardist Ben Lovett added. “There were so many car crashes. We look like us in our photos now. I don’t even want to describe how we used to look.”
