Mumford & Sons will warm-up for a summer of festival appearances with a hastily announced show in Brighton on Monday.

Tickets for the gig at the Dome Corn Exchange in Brighton on April 27th will be available exclusively to members of the band’s mailing list. Ahead of the release of ‘Wilder Mind‘ in June, mobile phones and other recording devices are banned.

Mumford & Sons have done their own little Bob Dylan style re-branding on ‘Wilder Mind’ in going electric on the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Babel‘.

“Towards the end of the Babel tour, we’d always play new songs during soundchecks, and none of them featured the banjo, or a kick-drum, we knew it wasn’t going to involve acoustic instruments,” Marcus Mumford has said.

“We didn’t say, ‘No acoustic instruments’, but I think all of us had this desire to shake it up. The songwriting hasn’t changed drastically; it was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again. Plus, we fell back in love with drums! It’s as simple as that.”
