Live4ever Presents: Bosco Rogers

br

Who?

Barth (lead vocals/guitar), Del (lead vocals/guitar). Plus our gang of cronies when we play live: Danielle Wadey (keys/vocals), Hannah LeCheminant (keys/vocals/percussion), Ben Beetham (bass), Jack Wilson (guitar), George MacDonald (drums).

Where?

Barth is from Rouen, everyone else is from Hastings or ended up there by mistake (via Jersey, Dorset and London).

How?

Like all the best bands, we decided to form after a night of drinking, playing pool and attempting to talk to girls. We are good at none of these things, except maybe the drinking.

Why?

The Monks, The B52s, The Shangri-La’s, Suicide, Link Wray, The Intelligence, Joe Meek, Mac Demarco, The Beatles, Guided By Voices, Iggy Pop, Del Shannon, Bow Wow Wow, Bo Diddley.

Past?

Barth has his studio in Rouen, Del runs a studio in Hastings, other than the odd bar/shop/cleaning job, both have always worked as musicians/producers (for their sins).

Present?

A blissful, fuzzed out tonic to the indigestible pop plasticity of late.

Future?

Toppermost of the poppermost!

Did you know?

Barth held the dubious title of France’s number one junior hula hoop champion (until he dislocated his hip in a freak yatching accident).

What’s next?

Getting ready for some gigs to support the release of our ‘French Kiss EP’ on 27th April. Then carrying on with recording our debut album. We play The Dragon Bar, Hastings on 26th April,  The Joker, Brighton, Monday 27th April and Aces & Eights, Tufnell Park, London, Tuesday 28th April.

Live4ever:

Four months after releasing and receiving critical acclaim for their debut EP ‘Googoo’, Bosco Rogers return with another EP entitled ‘French Kiss’. Unlike many of their contemporaries, Bosco Rogers filter their 60’s psychedelia influences through a modern lens. The title track, one of the EP’s brightest points, is a spooky night-time jangle propelled by surf-tinged guitar riffs and an instantly hummable chorus melody.

The duo of Barth Corbelet and Del Vargas displays outstanding chemistry; aesthetically the production is distinctive and the songwriting is memorable. Although Bosco Rogers has been around for less than six months they are quickly making a name for themselves with a brand of bedroom made flower punk perfect for fans of The Black Lips, Wampire or Brain Jonestown Massacre.
