Collaborations Don’t Work‘ according to Franz Ferdinand and Sparks, who are doing just that on the album ‘FFS‘ which will be released on June 8th through Domino.

Also trading under the FFS banner, the two bands first discussed a potential collaboration back in 2003, and finally entered the studio together last year.

“We approached it the way bands do with their first,” Alex Kapranos said. “We had the songs first, rehearsed them and then recorded it all together, in a room. So no hanging around or fannying about.”

“The real motivation was to make something new, not ‘Franz featuring Russell Mael’, or ‘Sparks with Franz Ferdinand backing them’.”
