A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher has denied the former Oasis frontman is planning to release his first solo album.

Yesterday (March 17th), The Sun dragged out one of its army of ‘sources’ to report Gallagher would be previewing new solo material as early as this summer. “Liam is eyeing up summer festival slots so he can preview some of his new stuff,” the source said.

“Though he knows his songwriting isn’t as consistent as Noel’s, he’s also well aware that his name carries a lot of clout in the music industry. His solo record would be one of the most highly-anticipated releases in British rock.”

However, when contacted swiftly by NME a spokesperson flatly rebuffed the rumours, claiming they are simply ‘not true’.

Liam Gallagher announced the end of his post-Oasis band Beady Eye in the October of last year after two studio albums – 2011’s ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding‘ and the 2013 effort ‘BE‘.
