Johnny Cash‘s American Recordings album series will be packaged together and released as a special 6 vinyl box-set on May 11th.
Starting with 1994’s ‘American Recordings‘ and ending with the posthumous 2010 LP ‘American VI: Ain’t No Grave‘, the box-set will be out on 180-gram audiophile vinyl, remastered under the watchful eye of producer and ‘American…’ driving force Rick Rubin.
The ‘American Recordings’ series helped to introduce Johnny Cash to a new generation of fans and led to a renewed period of success during the twilight years of the legendary songwriter’s career. The first edition neatly coincided with an appearance at the Glastonbury Festival, another event which helped to boost Cash’s fortunes in the mid-nineties.
‘American IV: The Man Comes Around‘, first released in 2002, contains Cash’s celebrated cover of the Nine Inch Nails track ‘Hurt‘ and will be spread across two vinyl albums on this new box-set.
