The next AIM Independent Music Awards ceremony has had its date set for September 8th this year.

It’ll be held at The Brewery in Clerkenwell, hosted by by XFM’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 1’s Alice Levine as the fifth annual event once again looks to celebrate the best of independent music.

“Independent labels have proven once again their undoubted lead in A&R in the last 12 months,” organiser Lara Baker comments. “From grime, to metal, folk and dubstep, it’s the indies who are leading the field in creativity, innovation and talent. We can’t wait to celebrate this year’s talent and honour the icons of our sector on September 8th.”

Last year, Arctic Monkeys‘ hugely successful ‘AM‘ won Independent Album Of The Year and London Grammar were named Independent Breakthrough Of The Year. The Independent Label Of The Year went to Domino.
