Coldplay to headline Glastonbury 2015?

Coldplay are being strongly tipped by the eFestivals site for another Glastonbury headline date this coming June.

Speculation, as always, has been rife surrounding the identities of the three main Pyramid Stage acts for this year since the event sold out in record time last October. The likes of Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Muse and even a reunion for Oasis have all been mentioned in despatches, but Coldplay have now emerged as one of the leading candidates by eFestivals, who aren’t usually far wrong.

Indeed, it would seem like an obvious place for Coldplay to revisit if they are to go on a long hiatus or even split in the near future, given that their 2002 headline gig at Worthy Farm is seen as one of the sparks which catapulted them to worldwide fame.

“It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” Chris Martin has told Zane Lowe of the band’s uncertain future.

“Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something. I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
