Blur – delighted to be back

Blur have now debuted the first track from their forthcoming new album ‘The Magic Whip‘, and the video for ‘Go Out‘ carries on the oriental theme of the artwork no doubt inspired by the band’s 2013 tour of Asia where new tracks were first laid down.

Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree confirmed their first album together since 1999, and Blur’s first since 2003, earlier today (February 19th) after a fair bit of online speculation.

‘The Magic Whip’ is due on April 27th, bringing to an end three years of teases and denials since they released the double A-side single ‘Under The Westway‘/’The Puritan‘ back in the summer of 2012 to mark their headline appearance at Hyde Park in celebration of the London Olympics’ closing ceremony.

The band has also confirmed today that they’ll be back in Hyde Park on June 20th as headliners for this year’s British Summer Time Festival.
