Fans of The Smiths have been busy snapping up limited edition t-shirts which feature a photograph of the band posing outside Salford Lads Club in similar style to the famous snap which features on the band’s classic 1986 album ‘The Queen Is Dead‘.

According to the Manchester Evening News, photographer Stephen Wright has given permission for the rare image to be used until November 2015 in aid of the Salford Sioux Project, which is linked with club.

“We have sold 60 in two days since the MEN story was published,” Amber Sanchez, a SLC volunteer remarks. “We are running out of size medium and will have to order some more. We have orders from California, Brooklyn, New York, New Jersey, Arkansas, and Illinois. Fans from France, Ireland, and Lanarkshire have also ordered them. We also sold a couple to some fans from Japan who called in person.”
