Dave Grohl‘s 46th birthday will be celebrated by the Foo Fighters with a special gig at Los Angeles’ Forum venue on Saturday, January 10th.

It’ll be the band’s first gig of 2015 and a portion of the proceeds from the $50 tickets will go to the Rock School Scholarship Fund, MusiCares and Sweet Relief charities.

Last year saw the Foo Fighters release the trans-continental ‘Sonic Highways‘ album, which was recorded in eight different US cities with various special guest musicians.

“Foo Fighters return after three years with ‘Sonic Highways‘ and, as everyone has come to expect, all the usual components parts are there: powerhouse performances and extremely strong writing,” our review opens.

“You cannot fault the Foo’s penchant for reliably ploughing a very specific and enjoyable furrow. At only eight songs in total, ‘Sonic Highways’ could almost be a mini album, yet although it may be reasonably compact in length, it is a very full album.”
