Beck is ready to release another album this year in the wake of a busy 2014 which was led by the now-Grammy nominated ‘Morning Phase‘.

That’s according to a biography on the official website of Oslo’s Oya Festival, where Beck will headline this year, which states that he is ‘currently working on a new album which will be out before the summer’.

‘Morning Phase’ was billed as a ‘companion piece of sorts’ to the 2002 album ‘Sea Change‘ and contained ‘Waking Light‘ and ‘Blackbird Chain‘ which were both recorded in Nashville with Jack White. It also included the help of Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Joey Waronker, Smokey Hormel, Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and Jason Falkner who all reprised their ‘Sea Change’ roles.

“It’s not heavy-handed, but it’s in there,” Beck has said of the LP’s subject matter. “There’s this feeling of tumult and uncertainty, getting through that long, dark night of the soul – whatever you want to call it. These songs were about coming out of that – how things do get better.”

‘Morning Phase’ will compete for Album Of The Year at the 2015 Grammy Awards with Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Pharrell when the ceremony is held in Los Angeles on February 8th.
