The Who‘s 50th anniversary live dates in the UK have been interrupted by Roger Daltrey‘s doctor.

The frontman has a note which will keep him away from the stage for the time being as he has a throat infection. The result is two nights at the O2 Arena in London which had been due to take place on December 17th and 18th have now been rescheduled for March 22nd and 23rd next year.

“The band and their management wish to sincerely apologise to all ticket holders for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused,” a statement insists.

Daltrey and his fellow surviving bandmate Pete Townshend have been out on the road celebrating The Who’s golden anniversary for most of this year. The touring has also included a long trip to North America and was described as the ‘beginning of the long goodbye’ as thoughts turn towards retirement for one of rock music’s greatest live acts.
