The Maccabees are still to finish work on their long delayed new album, but have told NME they can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.

The band can be first found talking about completing a follow-up to 2012’s wonderful ‘Given To The Wild‘ as early as May 2013, but find themselves still in the studio with 2015 on the horizon.

However, Felix White and singer Orlando Weeks have now said the final brush strokes should be applied and the entire picture completed next month.

“It feels more self-assured,” Weeks said. “I feel confident in it – I feel confident singing it. I feel like it’s got a really nice mix of all of our different inputs, and that’s the thing that takes us longest to get our heads around, trying to accommodate all of those different tastes.”

‘Given To The Wild’ proved to be comfortably The Maccabees’ most successful album both critically and commercially, led by the still irresistible single ‘Pelican‘.
