They’ve long proclaimed their natural home is on the big stadium stage, and after a year which saw them bring a lot of doubters around to their way of thinking with a headline appearance at Glastonbury, Kasabian have now said their ‘next step’ is Wembley and Murrayfield.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno singled out the two venues, where they supported Oasis back in 2005, during a chat with NME. “I suppose there’s some weird Britpop hangover ingrained in my soul that strives to make outsider music and take it to Wembley,” he said.

“It would be great to say you’ve done it, and it would be a huge achievement. But that show in Leicester – 60,000 people in a field – felt perfect for us. Maybe we’d like to take something like that around the country.”

“I was talking shit earlier – we are ready for Wembley. In fact, that’s the next step: Wembley and Murrayfield, and then beyond. It’s stadium time. It has to be.”

Kasabian released ‘48:13‘ earlier this year; when the album was taken to North American for a tour, we sat down with Pizzorno and Tom Meighan for an exclusive chat in New York. Check out the feature here.
