We need to go way back to the first half of 2013 to find the time when The Maccabees first began discussing their follow-up to 2012’s excellent ‘Given To The Wild‘ album, when expectations were that a new album would have long been with us by now.

Numerous delays and false starts later, the band finally are now ready to unleash some new material and are planning on doing so when they support Kasabian on the Leicester band’s tour of UK arenas from next week.

“There are definitely four or five tracks that we’re looking forward to playing,” guitarist Hugo White has told NME. “‘Marks To Prove It’ – that’s a working title – is one. With some songs like that, I feel like they’re a reminder of why we started the band, with that enthusiasm to play music that’s exciting and makes us excited.”

The tour opens up at the Glasgow Hydro on November 19th. The night before, The Maccabees will warm up with their own gig at the Liverpool Academy.
