With a new album lined up for the first part of 2015 and after confirming an appearance at the South By Southwest Festival, The Cribs have now announced their first London live date for next year and will play the city’s Electric Ballroom venue on February 16th.

The Jarman brothers were last on stage in London back in September when they played a show at The Garage featuring a setlist entirely chosen by fans. The gig interrupted sessions for their sixth studio album which have been undertaken with producer Ric Ocasek of Cars and, apparently, Dave Grohl.

The album’s release will see the band move from their long-term home of Wichita to Sony RED, a move bass player Gary has previously told BBC Newsbeat was a tough one.

“For us it was really, really hard, we haven’t really spoken about it,” he said. “It was difficult really, we’ve been with Wichita a long time, so it was really hard, it was like a break up with a girlfriend.”

“When you are on an indie label, when you have grown together, it’s much more personal. Like I said, it is more like breaking up with someone more than a business thing.”
