Universal will release special vinyl editions of tracks from the likes of The Beatles, The Who and St. Vincent next month as part of a so-called ’12 Days Of Christmas’ initiative which aims to support independent music in the UK during the festive season.

From December 1st, the campaign will begin with Metallica‘s  ‘Lords Of Summer‘ on 12″. The Beatles follow a day later with a 7″ single of ‘Long Tall Sally‘ and it ends on December 13th with The Who and their new track ‘Be Lucky‘. They all are available in 120 independent record shops around Britain – those taking part can be found here.

“At a time of the year when many retailers are focused on high volume Christmas releases we thought it was important to do something special for the indie stores who are important to us 52 weeks a year,” Universal’s Brian Rose says.
