Noel Gallagher‘s been sat on his new solo album for some time, ever since the final days of the 2014 World Cup in fact, and he’s admitted the wait for launch date is now ‘beginning to do his head in’.

It appears to be the ghost of Oasis past which is holding things up, what with remastered versions of the band’s first three studio albums being released this year; we’ve already had ‘Definitely Maybe‘ and ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?‘, but the wait for ‘Be Here Now‘ goes on, as does Noel’s and his impending ‘Chasing Yesterday‘ LP.

“I’ve had it finished since July,” Gallagher remarked during a Q&A session for XFM. “The last tour went on for 15 months and then I had a bit of time off. Then I finished my record early and then I’ve had to wait for these bloomin’ Oasis reissues to stop selling before I can put my record out because it’s all run out of the same office. That’s not intended to stop you buying them by the way, it’s just these things take time. It’s been a long time sitting on this record, it’s beginning to do my head in.”

It will all start to fall into place next March, when a tour of Europe is also due to start at the Belfast Odyssey Arena. And while Noel impatiently sits on his hands until then, attention refuses to be drawn away from the band he left in August 2009.

Repeated rumours of an Oasis reunion next year refuse to go away, despite Noel’s constant denials and despite the fact he’s likely to be ploughing the touring trail himself throughout next summer. This scenario hasn’t kept the bookies from the door however, with Oasis still remaining one of the favourites to headline Glastonbury for a third time in June 2015.

Stoking that particular fire a little more today is the festival’s organiser Michael Eavis, who’s quoted as saying in the Mirror newspaper: “I do talk to Noel and Liam a lot. Wouldn’t it be marvelous for them to relaunch at Glastonbury now Liam has split from Beady Eye?”
