Interpol finally break free from US snowstorms…50 hours later

Interpol have finally managed to dig their tour bus out and are probably currently warming their toes in a hotel somewhere after spending over 50 hours trapped in severe snowstorms which have hit the north eastern United States.

The band were forced to cancel Canadian gigs after first getting stuck earlier this week, and have been documenting their ordeal on Twitter since. They were eventually able to deliver some good news to their followers yesterday (November 20th), writing: “Finally just started making a move. 50+ hours later. Hoping for some luck today.”

A more detailed explanation was released on their official website when it became clear a show in Toronto would very much not be able to take place as they were marooned in New York.

“Our bus is trapped in a snowstorm just outside of Buffalo,” it said. “We haven’t moved our position on the road in over nine hours. Unfortunately, we’ll have to cancel tonight’s concert at the Kool Haus. We were greatly looking forward to the show but the big bad winter has come early this year. We will be informing people of a new date as soon as we can.”
