The Vaccines have begun work on a new album according to the producer they’ve called upon for the recording sessions, Dave Fridmann.

After two studio albums in as many years beginning with the 2011 debut ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?‘, the London band were back again last year with a shift in direction on the EP ‘Melody Calling‘.

At the time, they were quick to end any suggestions that yet another album could be imminent as a result, but after twelve months off it would seem Justin Young, Freddie Cowan, Árni Árnason and Pete Robertson now feel the time is right to follow ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age‘.

Speaking to NME, producer Fridmann has said The Vaccines are taking their main inspiration from Sleater-Kinney‘s 2005 album ‘The Woods‘ – an album he also produced. “Most recently I’ve been working with The Vaccines here and they were like, ‘Yeah ‘The Woods’, ‘The Woods!’,” he gushed.
