We know Paul Weller loves a collaboration, but Olly Murs? Really?

Weller has contributed a track to your 2009 X Factor runner-up’s latest album ‘Never Been Better‘ after becoming a fan of what is apparently a regular live cover of his ‘Stanley Road‘ track ‘Broken Stones‘ on the part of Murs.

“Paul came up to me and said, ‘I loved the version of Broken Stones you did’,” Murs has told The Sun. ”He said, ‘Are you writing at the moment? I’ll send you some songs’. We went into the studio and reworked one. To get an endorsement from the Modfather himself is special. He’s a musical legend.”

Paul Weller was last seen releasing the ‘Classic Album Selection Vol. 1′ box-set compilation, which was released at the start of last month and brings together his 1992 self-titled solo debut, the Mercury nominated follow up ’Wild Wood‘, the aforementioned million seller ‘Stanley Road‘, 1997’s ‘Heavy Soul‘ and 2000’s ‘Heliocentric‘.
