One of the favourites to headline next year’s sold-out Glastonbury festival has been ruled out by organiser Michael Eavis.

Fleetwood Mac have been leading the odds for months, pretty much ever since last June’s event was wrapped up, but Eavis has now told Music Week (via NME) the US veterans are ‘unavailable’ for next year, and also ruled out another group who have been strongly tipped recently.

“Queen? Not Queen, no,” he said. “Fleetwood Mac don’t seem to be available at the moment. But we’ve got three excellent headliners for next year.” Eavis then added that one of the three confirmed headliners has ‘been around for a long time’.

When bookmakers William Hill last released its odds for Glastonbury 2015, Fleetwood Mac were out front at 4/1. With them now seemingly out of the picture, AC/DC, Muse and Kate Bush are likely to be the new favourites, while Oasis continue to be backed for a reunion at Worthy Farm despite repeated denials of any such return by the group’s former leader Noel Gallagher.
