Dave Gilmour has confirmed he hopes to have a new solo album out next year, but still has ‘some sketches’ that are yet to be finished.

“It’s coming along very well,” he told Rolling Stone. “There are some sketches that aren’t finished, and some of them will be started again. There’s a few months’ work in it yet. I’m hoping to get it out this following year.” He added that a tour will be launched off the back of the record, a tour he’s anticipating will be ‘an old man’s tour’, not a ‘200-date sort of thing’.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier this month to BBC 6Music, Gilmour revealed more recordings made by his late Pink Floyd bandmate Richard Wright could feature on the solo LP. “I have a little bit of Rick playing from my solo stuff that will hopefully appear on my next solo album, but not a Pink Floyd album,” he said.
