Their 50th anniversary might have started the gradual winding down of The Who – ‘the beginning of the long goodbye’ as their UK arena tour which is due to start in November was described.

Yet this hasn’t stopped Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend getting together to record and release the band’s first new track since 2006. ‘Be Lucky‘ is to be included as part of a career-spanning collection entitled ‘The Who Hits 50!‘, worked on in the studio with their long-term touring drummer Zak Starkey, as well as bass player Pino Pallodino, keyboardist Mick Talbot and producer Dave Eringa.
