The Maccabees will freshen themselves up for a tour of UK arenas in November and December supporting Kasabian with their first headline date of 2014.

The band play Liverpool’s O2 Academy on November 18th just ahead of the Kasabian tour’s launch on November 19th at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, and have promised new material when writing on Twitter. “It’ll be a warm-up for our UK tour with Kasabian, and also the first time we play some new songs from the fourth album which is nearing completion,” they said.

The Maccabees have been discussing that fourth album, the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Given To The Wild‘, for some time now and were initially said to be hoping to have it out at the start of this year.

Instead, when that time came and went they had only two songs completed according to an interview with NME, and when last seen were still waiting for ‘recording proper’ to begin.
